Changes to P2
i have added a few changes to this guide most notably so i have fixed some font issues were some fonts were not the selected Agency FB and i fixed some font sizes i also added a index page so it will make it clear what all of the buttons do to make it easier to navigate the guide
House Style
This shows the page layout and the basic information that will be repeated through out the user guide
P2
Task 2
Planning and design.
In this task you have to create 3 separate documents:
1. a storyboard that outlines the navigation of your guide
2. a design housestyle that outlines fonts, images, media and colours to be used
3. a full prototype created in powerpoint, which has all text and images included.
(P2) Deadline 27th Jan 2014
To achieve M1 you need to develop your ideas, don’t settle on your first draft.
Show second drafts where you have changed your ideas to use initiative and explore unconventional design ideas.
Annotate your second drafts of P2 work to show how your designs have developed. Your development work should include possible font designs and logos.
Include notes on meeting user requirements.

Task 1
(P1) Deadline 13th Jan 2014
introduction
what i want to do is make a steam user guide that will go through all of the basic features of steam and i want to make it so it will be easy to follow and navigate so even people who are not necessarily computer literate will still be able to use the features that steam offers
purpose
introduction
what i want to do is make a steam user guide that will go through all of the basic features of steam and i want to make it so it will be easy to follow and navigate so even people who are not necessarily computer literate will still be able to use the features that steam offers
purpose
help people use steam by making and "Electronic user guide on how to navigate and use steam"
animation
animation
animation in this project will consist of titles and images that will be animated across the screen this will make the page more dynamic and easier to move the information so it is in a prime location to catch the eye so people will be drawn to the page
Video
i will want to have some videos that will show steam and how to work it this will help to make the video easier to understand with the visual aid i believe that the videos should be at the front of the page so this way i can show basic information and go into more information later using more information and images
Graphics
i will want to have images that will help make the point that i am talking about for example if i am talking about the steam library i will want to have the image that shows the library this will give visual aid to the page and i believe using this with information that will be on the page will make it so the information is clear and easy to take in
Sound
i believe that i will want to have two main types of sound because i want to have audio sound clips with my voice navigating the page and i want to have music that will accompany the information or graphics on the page for example
target audience
this will be targeted at anyone who would be interested in learning more about steam but i do understand that the main demographic for this would be teenage males from the age of around 13 - 18
platform
this will be made on director because this way i will be able to make the user guide and anyone will be able to view it without having to download any software this will make it more appealing to people and easier to access
objectives
what i hope to achieve by making this user guide is to help people use steam and navigate and truly understand what they are doing because it is a service that i love to use and i believe everyone should have the chance to make this

IT literacy
i believe that the target audience will be pc literate and know the basics of computing so they will be able to follow our guide we plan on keeping the terminology nice a simple for all levels of experience
virtual tours
i believe that the target audience will be pc literate and know the basics of computing so they will be able to follow our guide we plan on keeping the terminology nice a simple for all levels of experience
virtual tours
i believe that we will be doing a virtual tour video so we can navigate the page and give a brief description of what each area does and go into more information at other stages
conclusion
i wanted to do a breakdown to plan what i will be doing and i believe that i will have around 30 pages each with relevant information to the group it is in i think there will be 25 main page tabs and 5 overall tabs this includes the virtual tour

Introduction
what i want to do is make a steam user guide that will go through all of the basic features of steam and i want to make it so it will be easy to follow and navigate so even people who are not necessarily computer literate will still be able to use the features that steam offers
Media types
There are different types of media that can be used in my steam user guide these include photographs videos graphics logo sound and animation these can be used in may ways that will affect the overall feel of the user guide i will want to use these media types in a way that will enhance the way the information is revived but in a way that does not make the guide harder to use this will make it so anyone computer literate or not will be able to use the guide with ease i believe that i will focus on photography for this user guide because it will make it simple and visual so the information will be easy to take in
photograph
i want to use photos in this user guide so it will be easy to follow and the information provided will have a visual aid with it i believe that this will make it so the information is easier to understand and the guide will be more attractive to the eye because of the images i think that this will improve the guide no mater the audience because anyone who views the image will view them in the same way and this helps because information can be read in different that's why i believe images will be good for this guide
video
i do not believe that i will have many videos but i believe that the videos that i do use will be crucial to the guide because i will want to have videos that will help explain points that will be difficult to illustrate with images or just walking someone through with the information
graphics
graphics will be handy to use because i will be able to put some information on the screen and make it so it is nice to the eye and still useful i want to use vector images so they are high quality and i will want to make sure that the background is transparent so i can use overlays that will look professional and will be neat and share the information that i want to show.
logo
the logo is a part of the company that will be most reconcilable because it is the face of the company what i will want to do is make sure the logo will be at the front of the guide and through the whole guide so you will be able to associate the guide with the product this will also help retain the information because when you are using the program you will subconsciously think about the guide
sound
sounds can be used in many ways but the way i will want to use it in two ways to help improve my guide i want to have voice over and
animation

Task 7
Design a test plan that will allow you to test the full functionality of your database, including validation, error capture, error messages, and successful entry and manipulation of normal data. Create test data that can be used to test your database functions.
Carry out the tests you have planned and show the resulting screenshots
(P7) Deadline 6th December
LO(P7): Explore ways of testing a relational database.
Task 6
Create a query that will show film reviews that have been written for the months of January, February, March and April. The result must show:
- Who wrote the review
- Their comments
- The star rating they gave
- Film information
Show the query as screenshot of the design view.
Create a report based on the query that shows the results in an easy to read format
(part P5)(part M3) Deadline 20th November
LO(P5): Understand how you perform queries using multiple tables and multiple criteria.
LO(M3): Learn how to export data to an external source.
LO(M3): Learn how to export data to an external source.
Export the reviews to a Microsoft Word document. (part M3)
LO(M3): Learn how to export data to an external source.
in this i am making a new query for the form so i will be able to have the information go to the correct places

this is the queries that will take the information from multiple tables and will show the selected fields so we will be able to get the information that we require

this shows the selected fields from the tables and how i was able to choose the fields from the tables with the information that i required
this is that data that i was able to export to word so it will be easier to move and can be reviewed on word so people will not need to use access
Task 5
Task 5
Calculate the age of the new member and display it on the form.
Create an automated method of saving the new member’s details that is operated by clicking a “register new member” button.
The record should only be saved if:
- The member is 15 years of age or older (this year)
- They have included all details on the from
Error messages should be produced if they are too young, or leave any fields blank.
Show your code or macros in design view as a screenshot. Show the error messages that are generated.
(part p5)(part P6) (P4)(M4) Deadline 14th November
LO(P4): Learn how to create features in data entry forms to ensure validity and integrity of data.
LO(P5): Understand how you perform queries using multiple tables and multiple criteria.LO(P6): Explore ways to include an advanced feature in a database design.LO(M4): Explore ways of implementing an automated function to your database.

this box has the code that will make my table recognize the age of someone so this means that my append query will know if someone is under the required age this will make the database rejects or accept someone depending on there age
this is the error message that popped up when i put the information into the log in form and it says sorry you are too young and this shows that the formula to check the users age works

this is what happened after i ran the querie this shows all of the fields that were required so now you can see all the information for a selected movie so you can see everything that could help you decide if you want to get that movie
this is the macro i did this helps make the database automated and it makes it so it can check inputs without human interaction this can not only make the process faster but it can also remover the factor of human error because the macro has been checked and i know that it works so this will help me make sure that everyone is over the age of 15
